CHARLES W. “DUB” WILSON, III
WINTER HAVEN, FL, AGE 86
Charles W. “Dub” Wilson, III, was born on June 26, 1932, in Okmulgee, Oklahoma, to Charles W. Wilson, Jr., and Laura Merle Jarrell Wilson. He was surrounded by his dear family when he passed to heaven on March 15, 2019.
He was predeceased by his parents and brothers, Woodrow W. Wilson and James K. Wilson, all of Okmulgee, OK, father-in-law and mother-in-law Donald and Doris McCullough, and daughter-in-law Andrea Wilson.
He leaves behind his loving family - wife, Phyllis, of 65 years, his sons David and Charles “Chuck” Wilson (Jenni), and daughter Shelley Wilson Hendley, all of Winter Haven, FL; grandchildren Adam Hendley (Rebecca), and Laura Hendley; Ruth, Jesse and Moriah Wilson, all of Winter Haven; John Hendley of Orlando, Caleb Wilson of Kansas City, KS, Rose Wilson Clark (Demetrius) of Tampa, FL; step-grandsons Andrew Radeker, Columbia, SC, and Joshua Radeker, Newbury, FL.
Great-grandchildren are Dylan and Cohen Hendley, Amelya Hendley, Abegail Hendley, Autumn Perez, and Naterie Clark.
Other survivors are nephews Jerry Wilson, Nacogdoches, TX and Ken Wilson, Austin, TX; cousin Tom Wilson, Salina, OK; and sisters-in-law Patricia Wilson, Georgetown, TX, and Patricia Landgren, Spring, TX.
He is also survived by many loyal friends and his pet dog, Tootsie.
He was a grandson of Okmulgee, OK, pioneer cattleman and oilman, Charles W. Wilson, Sr. He graduated from OkmulgeeHigh School with the class of 1951, and from OklahomaStateUniversity in 1959. He proudly wore his orange and black OSU cap wherever he went.
Dub was a retired biochemist with the USDA Fruit and Vegetable Products Laboratory in Winter Haven, and at the Florida Chemical Company.
He was a faithful member of First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Winter Haven.
The family welcomes his many friends to a celebration of life service on March 31 at 4:00 p.m. at First Christian Church, 302 Sixth St., SE, Winter Haven, FL 33880, Winter Haven. Rev. Rob Mason will officiate.
