Obituary of John Thomas

John Edgar Thomas, 86, of Eagle Lake, Florida passed away Friday, February 28, 2020 at home surrounded by his family. He was born July 28, 1933 in Eagle Lake, FL to Mittie Rosetta and Edgar Thomas.

He married Berma Holley and together they had 7 children. He went to Florida Christian College where he became a minister and he preached at the Church of Christ throughout his life. He owned Thomas Fish Company with his wife Berma Thomas.

John leaves behind his sons Kendall Thomas, Victor Thomas, Johnnie Carpenter, Timothy Thomas and daughters Karen Cribbs, Sharen Groene and Taren Wadley, brother Gordon Thomas. He also leaves behind a legacy of 29 grandchildren, 45 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren along with many nieces and nephews and their children.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Berma Thomas, son John Thomas Jr., brother Douglas Thomas, sister Wanda Kirkland and grandchildren John Thomas III and Kelsea Thomas.

Visitation will be Saturday, March 7, 2020 from 10-11 am followed by funeral service 11-12 pm at Eagle Ave Church of Christ, followed by a graveside service at Eagle Lake Church of Christ Cemetery. Dinner to follow at Ashley Ransom’s house 1685 Spruce Road, Eagle Lake, FL everyone is invited.
