Obituary of Elsie Lee Sparrow

Mrs. Elsie Lee Sparrow, age 81 a resident of Lake Wales, Florida passed away Saturday, April 30th, 2022 at her home.

Mrs. Sparrow was born September 17,1940 in Enigma ,GA to Harry Lee Stinson and Gladys (Monk) Stinson. She was a resident of Polk County, Florida since early 40’s, moved to Illinois 1959 after marrying the love of her life, Carrol Sparrow, and moved back to Polk County Fl in 1980. She worked at Winter Haven Hospital since 1984 till her retirement in 2016. Elsie was a member of Dundee Temple Baptist Church. She Loved Jesus, enjoyed sing ins at church and was involved in the children’s ministry over the years. She enjoyed, reading books, sewing, camping, swimming, square dancing with her husband., driving & socializing in his golf cart with him, Christian concerts and spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by her husband Carrol Sparrow of 62 years, her parents; 2 daughters – Tammy Lynn Sparrow & Cindy Lee Sparrow-Smith; 2 brothers – Carl Stinson, Billy Stinson & 1 sister-Shirly McKenzie. Elsie is survived by her loving family, daughter – Debra (Bruce) Lucas of Lake Alfred, Florida; son- Darryl (Tereasa) Sparrow of Waupaca, Wisconsin;  6 grandchildren – Shane, Brent, T.J., Justin, Elizabeth and Lamar; 15 great grandchildren – Antonio, Joshua, Isaac, John, Alex, Devon, Skylar, Tamyre, Justice, Memphis, Rosalie, Reuben, and Oscar. Layla and Bentley. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, May 7th,2022 at Steele Funeral Home, 207 Burns Lane, Winter Haven, Florida 33884 .  Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM, service at 11:00 AM and graveside at 12:30 PM.
