Obituary of Edgar L. Bledsoe

Edgar L. Bledsoe, 85, died Tuesday, July 12, 2022 in Winter Haven, Florida.  

He was born in Harlan, KY on September 8, 1936 and moved to Winter Haven in 1954.  

In 1969 he and his family relocated to Joliet, IL and he retired from General Motors after 30 years. 

He is survived by his two sons, Nathan Bledsoe of Dothan, AL and Paul Bledsoe (Wilma) of Haines City, FL. 

Two grandchildren, Lisa Farris (Nick) and Melissa Soland (Bryan). 

Two great grandchildren, Trinity Bledsoe and Tiffany Soland. 

Three sisters, Bertha Giles (Joe), Shirley Meade and Betty Swinson, numerous nieces and nephews. 

He is preceded in death by his wife, Merle Bledsoe, of 64 years, his parents, Toby Bledsoe and Bertha Bledsoe, his brothers, Ernest Bledsoe, Sam Bledsoe and Robert Bledsoe. His sisters, Virginia Blackburn, Ruby Saylor and Madge Durrance.  

Visitation services will be held at Steele’s Family Funeral Services Monday, July 18, 2022 at 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m., followed by graveside service at Glen Abbey Memorial Gardens, K-Ville Ave, Auburndale.
