MARY JORDAN PETERS

Born March 10, 1935 in Mountain City, TN. and passed September 16, 2022 near her home in Winter Haven, FL. Survived by her husband of 69 years, R.W “Pete” Peters, son, Michael (NeNe) Peters, grandchildren, Jessica Peters (Jason) and Jordan Peters(Julie), great grandchildren, Sean Sanders and Elle Peters. Predeceased by parents Hedrick and Lily Jordan, sisters Betty Edens, Pauline Stout, Opal Eggers and brothers Curtis Jordan, James Jordan and Sam Jordan.

After graduating from Elizabethton High School she left the hills of East Tennessee for Florida, living in Winter Haven for 60 years. Mary was community minded, served in the Winter Haven Auxiliary having chaired the annual ball and was an usherette for the Boston Red Sox Spring Training Games. After working as a medical receptionist Mary began her career becoming a leading sales representative for fashion eyewear throughout central Florida.

Mary will be remembered for her beautiful oil paintings, her eye for fashion, her time spent at their Long Boat Key beach condo and her affection for her beloved pets.

A celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
