Obituary of Lessie V. Loveland
Lessie V. Loveland, 97, of Winter Haven, FL passed away on February 19, 2023 at Good Shepherd Hospice in Auburndale with her family. She was born on January 25, 1926 in Mayo, Florida to Ben and Jessie Lou Ezell.
She moved to Winter Haven, Florida in the 1950’s and worked for the Department of Agriculture for 30 years. She was a member of the Faith Baptist Church in Winter Haven, FL.
Lessie was a woman who loved her family and was kind and never knew a stranger. She loved to paint and didn’t start her passion for painting till she retired. She read her Bible and loved Dr. Jeremiah’s books and seeing her family and friends on Facebook. She loved to garden and spent as much time as she could outside. She grew her own cucumbers to make pickles every year and would give them away to neighbors, doctors or anyone who would want them.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Ben and Jessie Ezell; her loving husband of 67 years, Robert W. Loveland; sisters, Essie Webb, Emma Eason, Audrey King and brother Lloyd Ezell. Lessie leaves behind, daughter, Kay Ryder (Fred), Haines City, FL, grandson, Scott W. Gaffney of Auburndale, FL; and great grandson, Matthew E. Gaffney of Auburndale, FL, sister Rennie Starling of Leesburg, FL and Nelda Hutcheson of Mayo,FL.
A visitation will be on Saturday, February 25, 2023 at 1:00 pm at Steele’s Family Funeral Services, 207 Burns Lane SE, Winter Haven, FL. followed by a graveside service at 2:30 pm. Final resting place will be at Lakeside Memorial Park in Winter Haven, FL. In lieu of flowers the family has asked that donations be made to Good Shepherd Hospice, 450 Arneson Ave. in Auburndale, FL, 3382
