Obituary of Judson Wayne Sealy
Judson Wayne Sealy
November 24, 1947 – February 19, 2023
Judson Wayne “Judd” Sealy, 75, of Winter Haven, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on February 19, 2023, at Advent Health in Orlando. He was born November 24, 1947 in Winter Haven, FL, the son of Emmett and Beulah (Odum) Sealy.
A lifelong resident of Winter Haven, Judd was active in the real estate industry since 1981 serving as Broker of Action Realty of Polk County. He was also a Licensed Contractor and Builder with over 50 years in the construction industry, where he loved being involved in every aspect of a project, from start to finish. A hard worker, it was almost impossible to get him to take any time off unless he was promised a trip to Little Gasparilla Island, his favorite spot to relax and fish. He graduated from Winter Haven High in 1967 where sports were a major part of his life. He loved telling stories about every important game, including the stats, to whoever would listen over the years. He graduated from Polk State College in 1970. Met his wife, Donna Gray, in 1973 and they were married on February 14, 1976.
His family was his life. So proud and always talking about his two sons and three grandchildren, anyone who knew Judd could probably tell you all the highlights of each child’s life. In the early years, his world revolved around soccer and baseball, never missing his sons’ games, but these activities were eventually replaced with dance recitals and gymnastic events. His three grandchildren added a special joy to his life and he was really looking forward to meeting his fourth grandchild in just a few weeks.
Judd was preceded in death by his mother, Beulah Downs, and his father, Emmett Sealy. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Donna; sons Erik Sealy (Tricia) of Winter Haven and Ross Sealy (Ashley) of Orlando; grandchildren Claire Sealy and Chloe Sealy of Winter Haven and Mason Sealy of Orlando; nieces and nephews residing across the US and Europe; brother, Jerry Sealy.
A service will be held on Wednesday, March 8, at 10 am at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church Chapel in Winter Haven. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations sent to Conservation Florida at https://conservationfla.org
