Obituary of Janet (Robb) Young

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Janet (Robb) Young on April 26, 2023, in Winter Haven, FL after a brief illness. Janet was born in Haverhill, NH on February 25, 1940, and grew up in Haverhill and North Haverhill, NH. She graduated from Haverhill Academy in 1956. In 1959 she completed LPN training. On Jan 30, 1960, she married Edmond (Ed) L. Young of Bradford, VT.

Janet was a longtime resident of Randolph, VT. There she worked as a nurse at the Gifford Memorial Hospital. Janet started as an LPN and eventually earned her Associate's Degree and became an RN. She worked at Gifford for over 30 years. After Janet and Ed retired, they opted for sun and warmth and moved to Haines City, FL. They did spend several of their summers returning to Vermont to camp at Lake Champaign and spent time in Highgate, VT. While in Florida, Janet took up her lifelong desire and began painting. She became president of the Lake Region Art Club, serving as President for several years.

Janet is survived by her husband of 63 years Edmond L. Young and sons Michael Young (Anne) of Ocala FL and Highgate VT, Patrick E. Young (Bonnie) of Constable, NY, Edmond L. Young Jr of Prescott, AZ, and sisters Patricia Cook of Haines City, FL and Theresa Lavoie of Ryegate, VT. She is also survived by many beloved grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. She was predeceased by her infant sons Peter and Paul Young, parents Michael J. Robb and Madeline (Shallow) Robb, and brothers Edward Robb, Donnie Robb (Brenda), Dale Robb, and Francis Robb. a memorial service will be determined at a later date.
