Obituary of Jaime Ayala Sr.

Jaime Ayala, Sr (AKA Jaime Ricardo Ayala Pedraza) passed away on October 8, 2018 in Winter Haven, FL at the age of 82. He was born October 12, 1935 in Güepsa, Colombia, South America. He immigrated to the United States in 1960 and married Aida Luz Mojica in 1962 with whom he had two sons, Jaime, Jr. and Glenn.

He served in the U.S. Army from 1962 - 1965 as part of the 101st Airborne Division, attained the rank of Specialist Four, and received recognition as a Parachutist and Sharpshooter. In 1967 he became a naturalized citizen of the United States.

As an entrepreneur, he ran his own transportation company, owned a restaurant, and was very involved in the real estate business. Jaime Ayala was known for an untiring work ethic, the help he offered to many others, and his zest for living. Un gran amigo.

He married Maria N. Castro in 1993 and together they raised her son, German Felipe Castro. He is survived by his wife, two sons, stepson, five grandchildren and one great-grandson, as well as many family members in his native Colombia. The interment is scheduled at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL on Friday, Oct 12, 2018 at 12:30 PM.
