Obituary of Francis Briscoe

Francis (Frank) Briscoe 1937 ~ 2021

Born in Jamaica, NY January 20, 1937

Son of the late George & Gladys (Goyette) Briscoe and raised in Groveland, MA – Graduated from Haverhill Trade School class of ’54.

He was a Veteran of the US Navy, serving during the Korean War era. Frank was employed as a sheet metal mechanic for Portsmouth, NH Navel Ship Y for 21 years, retiring in 2002.

Wife Betty (Surette-Roy) Briscoe, three stepchildren Paula Roy of Durham, NH – Daniel & Timothy Roy of Alton, NH and David Briscoe of Winter Haven, FL. He leaves eight grandchildren; Kevin, Meredith, Ethan, Jessica, Marc, Eliza, Morgan and Chad. Sister May Waters of Wilmington, NC and predeceased brother George (Rusty) Briscoe of Hampstead, NH. Several nieces and nephews.

Frank made his home in Lynn, MA, Londonderry, NH, Rochester, NH, their summer cottage on Merrymeeting Lake in New Durham, NH and Winter Haven, FL. Retirement brought them to Winter Haven, FL where their son is a professional skier and instructor.

Frank coached youth ice hockey for many years in NH local programs including Derry, Londderry and Manchester, NH. He loved working with the young and molding their character into adult life. He was an avid golfer and bowler and simply enjoyed all sports, especially Boston Bruins and the Tampa Bay Lighting.
