Obituary of Michael Ray McClure

Michael Ray McClure, 64, of Winter Haven, FL passed away suddenly on Tuesday July 20, 2021. Mike was born March 19, 1957 in Huntington, WV, a son of Janet Lee McClure and the late Clyde Ray McClure.

During his time in Huntington Mike enjoyed playing basketball, running cross country, spending time with his friends and family, and living life to its fullest. Over his lifetime he became an avid golfer, sport enthusiast, animal advocate, and lover of all music. His passion for sports and music was shared with everyone; you could most always find him watching a sporting event muted with a vinyl record blasting. Mike lived a memorable life and had all the stories to go with it. He was a dedicated sheet metal foreman for HT Boggs/Metal Mart which brought his family from Huntington to Florida in 1988. Upon retirement, Mike focused on his family, his dogs and perfecting his golf swing.

Mike is survived by his two daughters, Jessica McClure of Nashville, TN and Brittany Smith (Kyle) of Huntersville, NC, his granddaughter Henley Rae Smith, his sister Beth McGinnis of Barboursville, WV and her two sons Jonathan and Jason, his longtime fiancé Helen Allen of Winter Haven, FL and her children Andy Collins (DeeAnn and two children Weyleigh and Liam), Angie John (Miguel Santiago and two children Dezmond and Nevaeh) and Billy John (and son Tyler). He also leaves behind his former spouse Lynn Roe McClure.

Final inurnment will be in Huntington, WV at Woodmere Cemetery on a later date. Visitation will be at Steele's Family Funeral Services in Winter Haven, FL on Monday, July 26 from 4 pm to 6 pm. In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Humane Society, the ASPCA, or charity of your choice.
