Obituary of Leroy Deal

Mr. Leroy Deal, age 88, a resident of Winter Haven, went to be with the Lord on March 24, 2022 at Lakeland Regional Medical Center surrounded by family. Born January 2, 1934 in Coffee Springs, AL to E.L. and Mamie (Hornsby) Deal, Leroy has been a Winter Haven resident since the 1940s. Leroy graduated from Winter Haven High School, was a retired Master Electrician for Polk County, volunteered as a fireman for the Jan Phil Village Volunteer Fire Station, served as an ordained deacon, and was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Winter Haven. His passions were woodworking, sports, and spending time with his family. Leroy was preceded in death by his parents; wife Barbara; and sister Betty Jo. He is survived by his son Ken Deal of Largo, FL; daughter Darlene (Erik) Christensen of Sebring, FL; two brothers – Robert (Eva) Deal of Titusville, FL and Pete Deal of Winter Haven, FL; and two sisters – Elizabeth Abercrombie of Winter Haven, FL and Sue Dunaway of Lakeland, FL. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him but the love he had for each will live on in their hearts and memories. A celebration of Leroy’s life will be held on Saturday, April 9th at 11:00 AM at Faith Baptist Church, Winter Haven, FL.
