Rita T. Demers

Rita T. Demers, 93, our devoted mother, originally from Derry, NH, died October 25, 2022, at her home in Winter Haven, Florida surrounded by friends and family. Rita was born in Manchester, NH, on July 29, 1929, to Henry and Stella Cote. A lifelong resident of Derry, she married Roland Demers also from Derry. The two were lifelong companions and were blessed with three children, David, Lori, and Lyndi.

Rita and Roland together owned Demers Real Estate in Derry for thirty years and were active in the community and as members of St. Thomas Aquinas Church. She later wintered in Florida until relocating permanently to Orange Manor West Mobile Home Park in Winter Haven, Florida. She loved to travel, spend time with friends and family, play bingo and the word jumble with friends.

She is survived by one son, David Demers, in Clearwater, Florida: two daughters, Lori Davis and her husband, William of Calais, VT, and Lyndi Demers of Palm Harbor, Florida and one granddaughter, Lani Demers of Palm Harbor, Florida, as well as several nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life memorial service is planned for Sunday, December 18, from 12 to 2 pm at Orange Manor West Mobile Home Park’s clubhouse. In place of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Pl, Memphis, TN 38105.
