Obituary of Margaret Audrey Clavette

Margaret Audrey Clavette

May 24, 1934 – August 3, 2023

With great sadness, Margaret Audrey (Ness) Clavette passed away on August 3, 2023, after too many years of pain and suffering with dementia, complicated by osteoporosis. Her pain was removed by her Savior, Jesus Christ and she entered the Kingdom of God.

She was born in Eau Claire, WI on May 24, 1934 to her parents, Arthur and Ruby Ness and grew up with an older sister, Nancy (Ness) Halverson. She attended Eau Claire High School and Eau Claire State Teachers College (University of Wisconsin – Eau Claire).

In 1955, while in college, she met Richard Clavette. They were married on February 3rd, 1956. They were married for over 67 years and had three children; Pamela Clavette Levy, Steven Clavette (Gail) and Amy Clavette. She had nine grandchildren –8 boys & 1 girl (Clayton Clavette, Dr. Stephanie Coleman (David), Ryan DeFever (Tracy), David Coleman (Chelsea), Jake Clavette (Katie), Sam Clavette, Joe Clavette, Matt Clavette and Max Clavette, and two great grandchildren, Chloe Clavette and Chase Coleman. She greatly enjoyed attending all her grandchildren’s sporting events.

She treasured her summer home in northern Wisconsin on Bass Lake, where they created many family memories.

Marge loved her family and had many friends wherever they lived. In 1997, they moved their winter home to Cypresswood Golf and Country Club in Winter Haven, FL. She enjoyed walking around the neighborhood, golfing and spending time with all the friends she had acquired over the years.

Marge was very active at her church, Kingo Lutheran Church in Shorewood, WI. One of her favorite hobbies was knitting baby caps for newborn babies and donating them to both the hospitals in Antigo and Winter Haven. During the course of her time, she knitted over 500 caps.

She was also a member of GOGRA’s, a group of girls that met in grade school in Eau Claire whom continued their friendship throughout the years.

The family wishes to thank the staff at Astoria Health and Rehabilitation Center as well as the staff with Compassionate Care Hospice for their care over the past five weeks.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Kingo Lutheran Church, on a date to be determined.

The family requests, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Kingo Lutheran Church, 1225 East Olive Street, Shorewood, WI 53211.
