Obituary of Marguerite J Giumarra

Marguerite J. Giumarra, age 92, died of heart disease at the George C. Forsythe Hospice House on July 27, 2023.

Born in Bronx, N.Y., on August 13, 1930, she raised her family in Cresskill, N.J. Winter Haven, Florida became her home in 2010 after relocating from Orangeburg, N.Y.

Mrs. Giumarra was widowed in 1974 with the death of her husband, Emanuel L. Giumarra. Her mother, Rita Croce, and her sister, Pauline Ciani, also preceded her in death. She is survived by her three children: Marguerite Giumarra, New Jersey; Deborah Giumarra, Maryland and Charles Giumarra, South Carolina and her three grandchildren: Sarah Kulpa, Alicia Roberts and Amanda Fitzpatrick.

Marguerite lived an active life. She had a successful career in the energy industry; was an avid bowler who competed in tournaments around the country and loved playing golf. In addition, she served her Winter Haven community by working with the Board of Directors of its HOA.

What she will be most remembered for is her tireless support of her family and the many friends she had throughout her life. Her contributions to their lives were significant.

Memorial Mass will be held at St. Matthew’s Catholic Church in Winter Haven on August 23, 2023 at 9 o’clock in the morning. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
