Dawn Marie Johnson Giammetta

Loving mother, devoted grandmother and treasured friend, Dawn (“Nana”) Giammetta, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, February 4, 2024.

Dawn was born July 25, 1936 in Alexandria, Virginia to Harvey and Emily Johnson. She attended Mount Vernon High School where she was a cheerleader and Homecoming Queen.

Dawn moved to Winter Haven, Florida in 1964, During her career, she worked at Westwood Junior High School, GTE and Bartow Middle School before retiring at 78 years old.

Dawn was a volunteer at the Friends of the Winter Haven Public Library and the Winter Haven Hospital. She was an avid reader and loved gardening, taking walks and vacationing with family and friends.

Dawn was preceded in death by her parents, brothers John Johnson and Harvey Johnson, sisters Brenda Giuseppe and Karen McComb and her beloved son, Michael Keith Giammetta.

She is survived by her loving daughters, Vicky (Ken) Bauernschub and Dawn (Jon) Johnson, Daughter-In-Law, Vicky Billingsley, Granddaughters, Krissy (Jon) Knowles and Taylor Johnson (Karl Vetter – Fiancé), Great Granddaughters, McKenzie Knowles and Charlotte Knowles.

Dawn truly loved her family and friends and will be deeply missed.

A casual celebration of life will be held at Schack’s BBQ, 3000 Cypress Gardens Road, Winter Haven, FL from 2-4 p.m. on Saturday, February 10, 2024.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Friends of the Winter Haven Public Library, 325 Avenue A NW, Winter Haven, FL 33881.
