Obituary of Doris Elizabeth Hickman

Mrs. Doris Elizabeth Hickman, age 89, a resident of Auburndale, Florida passed away Saturday, April 6, 2024 at her home with family. Mrs. Hickman was born August 10, 1934 in Blountsville, Alabama to Toxie and Esther (Edwards) Baxter. She was a Polk County resident for over 70 years coming from Alabama. Doris was a retired Sect ionizer for Snively Groves & Kraft Foods. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, traveling, crocheting and spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by her parents; 3 brothers – Erskine, Scotty & Ewell; 3 sisters – LolaMae, Louise & Sue. Doris is survived by her loving family, daughter – Debbie (Larry) Holmes of Auburndale, Florida; brother – Dale Baxter of Winter Haven, Florida; 6 grandchildren – Heather, Erin (Andy), Tabatha, Alex (Holly), Chad (Casey) and Chasity (Darrin); 14 great grandchildren – Alexis, Gavin, Emma, Austin, Trace, Gracie, Raylee, Selina, Lane, Hannah, Ava, Bradley, Montgomery and Mckenzie. Graveside services will be held 10am Thursday, April 11th at Auburndale Memorial Park, 1889 West Derby Avenue, Auburndale.
